This article will show you how to make a Formula and Operator variables using the graphical interface. This article assumes you have already made random number variables, if you need help making random number variables, please see How to Create a Random Number Variable for Smart Items. Formula variables creates numbers based on a formula set in the variable.
Operator variables are more easily made during the creation of a formula variable. Operator variable creation is shown on step 6.
1- Open the Graphical Interface.
2- Click on the plus button next to Variables on the the top left side of the window.
3- Click on the Random Column Name option.
4- Type a name for the variable in the box with the text unnamed.
5- Either enter a number or click on the Use a Variable option. If you click on use a variable option, use the drop down menu to choose a variable.
6- Select Use a Variable or click on a operator then click the Create a variable for this operator button. This creates a variable that will display the correct operator to be used in the stem.
Please note: to randomly select an operator click the question mark followed by any operators you want. To randomly select from all operators click the question mark only.
7- Either enter a number or click on the Use a Variable option. If you click on use a variable option, use the drop down menu to choose a variable. You can keep adding operator and variables until you have the formula that you want. Once you are done, go to step 8.
8- Click on the save button.
