In Scorpion you can set up a configurations to have exam (over all) timer for the form and/or sections with individual timers .
Global Timer
1- Use the project drop down menu to navigate to the Forms page.
2- Click on the edit button of the form you would like to set up timers for. If you need to setup a form, please see How to Create Forms in Scorpion.
3- Click on the Edit This Configuration button, you can set the overall timer for the form in seconds in the box next to Exam Time Limit (seconds). Note: if your global timer is shorter than the combined timer length of the sections, the over all timer will trump the section timers.
4- After making your changes click on the Save button in the top left-hand corner.
Note: if you want your changes to go live make sure to hit the MAKE LIVE button.
This is what the examinee will see:
Section Timer
1- Go to the Forms page.
2- Click on the edit button of the form you would like to set up timers for. If you need to setup a form, please see How to Create Forms in Scorpion.
3- Click on the Content timer.
4- If you do not have sections, click on the Add Section button. In the box next to Section Time Limit (seconds), you can set the time limit in seconds. Note: if your global timer is shorter than the combined timer length of the sections, the over all timer will trump the section timers.
5- You can have the over all timer paused for a section if you click the box next to Pause the exam timer while examinees are in this section.
6- After making your changes click on the Save button in the top left-hand corner.
NOTE: If the sum of the section timers does not equal what the global timer was set to, you will see this warning.
7- Under the Exam Rules tab, the box next to Enable section timers and navigation needs to be marked for the section timers to work.
Note: if you want your changes to go live make sure to hit the MAKE LIVE button.
