Allowing Camera, Microphone, and Screen Sharing Access in Safari on a macOS 26 or 15 computer

This step-by-step guide will assist you in setting up your macOS 26 or 15 computer so that it can be used with Caveon Observer with Screen Sharing, Web Camera, and Microphone Access.

System Level Permissions

1. Click on the Apple Menu, and choose System Settings

2. Click on Privacy & Security located on the left side of the Settings Applet

    

3. Scroll through the list until you see Camera and click on it

4. Ensure that Safari has been "turned on" for Camera Access

    

5. Click the back button < next to Camera and locate Microphone.  
6. Repeat step 4 for the microphone.
7. Close system Settings.

Primary Method of granting access in Safari

Note that you should ensure that your system level permissions are set correctly as described earlier before attempting to complete these steps.

1. Launch your Observation link
2. Click Enable on the Web Camera Line
3. Click allow to start your web Camera (Do not select to use iPhone as Web Camera)
4. Click Enable next to Screen-Share and choose Allow to Share Screen and click on Share Entire Screen

If you are not prompted to grant access or accidentally clicked block\deny

1. Within Safari, click on the Safari Menu and choose Settings
2. Click on Websites on the top navigation window
3. Click on Camera and ensure that Observer.caveon.com is set to Ask
4. Click on Microphone and ensure that Observer.caveon.com is set to Ask
5. Click on Screen Sharing and ensure that Observer.caveon.com is set to Ask

Additional Troubleshooting

1. Ensure that you are running macOS 26 or 15 with the latest security updates
2. If your device is managed by corporate policies, (InTune, JAMF, or other corporate MDM managed solutions), ask your administrator to allow access for the site or use a different unmanaged device.
