This step-by-step guide will assist you in setting up your macOS 26 or 15 computer so that it can be used with Caveon Observer with Screen Sharing, Web Camera, and Microphone Access.
System Level Permissions
- Click on the Apple Menu, and choose System Settings

Click on Privacy & Security located on the left side of the Settings Applet
- Scroll through the list until you see Camera and click on it

Ensure that Firefox has been "turned on" for Camera Access
- Click the back button < next to Camera and locate Microphone.
- Repeat step 4 for the microphone.
- Close system Settings.
Primary Method of granting access in Edge
Note that you should ensure that your system level permissions are set correctly as described earlier before attempting to complete these steps.
- Launch your Observation link
- Clock on enable Web Camera

Select the correct camera and microphone and click allow

On the Screen-Share, click enable, and then when asked what screen to share click Screen 1. and click allow.
If you are not prompted to grant access or accidentally clicked block\deny

Within Firefox while on your Observation setup screen in Firefox click on the 3 stacked lines located on the top right hand side of your screen.
- Click on Settings

Click on Privacy and Security

Scroll down to the permissions area
- Click on Settings next to Camera
- Ensure that https://observer.caveon.com is set to Always Ask, rather than blocked. If it is listed as blocked change it to Always Ask
- Click Save Changes
- Repeat for Microphones
- Click on Exceptions for "Block pop-ups and third-party redirects"
- Enter https://observer.caveon.com and click allow, repeat for https://scorpion.caveon.com and click allow and then Save Changes.
Additional Troubleshooting
- Ensure that your browser is up-to-date by going to Settings\Help\About Google Chrome and choosing check for updates
- Ensure that you are running macOS 26 or 15 with the latest security updates
- If your device is managed by corporate policies, (InTune, JAMF, or other corporate MDM managed solutions), ask your administrator to allow access for the site or use a different unmanaged device.
